Denise Grimsley was elected to the Florida House of Representatives in November 2004. She currently chairs the House Appropriations Committee, the first woman to ever serve in this role.
A fifth generation Floridian, Denise graduated from South Florida Community College, Polk Community College and Warner Southern College with degrees in Nursing and Organizational Management. She later earned an MBA from the University of Miami.
In 1996, having spent many years as a Certified Operating Nurse in Highlands, Hardee and Polk counties, Denise hung-up her scrubs and took over the family business following her father’s serious illness.
